On September 27, 2009, I encountered a challenging situation while trying to adjust the idle mixture on my 230SL Mercedes. The process involves pressing in and turning the adjusting knob on the back of the injection pump. However, during this adjustment, I accidentally touched the idle screw while the engine was running, leading to unforeseen consequences.
I have tried adjusting the idle mix screw on the injection pump, the only problem is that once I get it adjusted so that it does not smoke at idle it will stumble terrably upon acceleration. I adjusted the timing to factory specs.
